Leaders' Morning 10 May

Oasis: a time of refreshment together

You are invited to come and spend some time apart with God and with one another. Our Spring leader's morning is planned for Thursday May 10th and is titled Oasis — a time of refreshment together.

We are planning to create some space and time for worship and prayer which helps restore our souls, and we hope that by providing a choice of different ways to pray there will be something that connects with everyone. We will reflect on the themes of Isaiah 32 and 35, particularly the idea of streams in the desert. We will be asking ourselves the question: ‘what might such a renewal mean for me and for the town?’

We start with breakfast 8:00am–9:15am. Over breakfast there will be some input about the Thy Kingdom Come prayer initiative which begins on May 10th for nine days leading up to Pentecost Sunday.

At 9:30am we begin our leaders’ morning with word and worship, after which there will be a number of different ways to pray: some solitary, some together, including the chance for a walk out and up to the top of the multi-storey car park to pray over the town. There will also be tea and coffee on tap all morning, and places where you can simply sit and chat or pray with each other.

At 12:00noon we will come together to hear from each other what God might have been saying to us through the morning.

A few things to note:

  • You can come to both the breakfast and the morning or one or the other, depending on what works best for your timetable. We hope as many of you as possible will be able to come to as much as you can, so don't miss out just because you can't make all of it.

  • It is a free event (contributions welcome towards breakfast as usual please.)

  • You are also very welcome to bring any other key leaders from your church who you think might also benefit from this time out together.

Venue is Rugby Methodist Church Centre (on the gyratory). Please RSVP to the REVIVE office.

If you are planning to stay for the morning, could you please try and park at the Bradby Club, accessed from East Union St, in the 12 marked out spaces (we have made arrangements for this). If just coming to the breakfast please park in the church car park. This will then leave spaces for the other activities at the church that morning.
