RUGBY ROC
Redeeming Our Communities is a national charity founded in 2004 with over 220 projects throughout the UK. The charity’s main aim is to bring about community transformation by creating strategic partnerships, which open up opportunities for crime and disorder reduction and improved community cohesion.
Revive, in partnership with the Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner, commissioned Redeeming Our Communities (ROC) UK to undertake a community engagement event online in Rugby. On 19th May 2021, members of the public were invited to come together with community agencies in Rugby to celebrate what is good about the town and identify issues that were not being addressed. From this “Conversation”, themed ROC Action Groups will take forward individual issues and work together to help resolve them.

THE ROC CONVERSATION AND WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Over 170 people attended the Rugby ROC Conversation over the 2 sessions on May 19th 2021, including representatives from the voluntary sector, statutory organisations, faith groups and businesses as well as over 30 residents.

A lot of good work was highlighted as happening in the community but there were thematic issues of concern also raised. ROC Action Groups and sub-groups will be formed to work on addressing some of the main themes which are highlighted in this report. Over 70 people signed up to be part of the ROC Action Group and there will be a meeting soon to discuss how people can get involved further.
