BLESS RUGBY is an initiative to Prayer Walk as many streets in the town and surrounding villages as we can during Lent and Easter 2022
WHAT IS BLESS RUGBY?
BLESS RUGBY is an initiative to Prayer Walk as many streets in the town and surrounding villages as we can during Lent and Easter 2022.
As God's people, we live as citizens of heaven and as 'exiles' in a broken world. The prophet Jeremiah's encouragement to the exiles living in Babylon was to: "seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” Jeremiah 29:7.
We therefore want to:
• Pray Blessing upon the town of Rugby and surrounding villages.
• Pray Salvation for its people.
• Particularly at this time to pray for the Recovery and Renewal of people, businesses and institutions that have struggled during the pandemic.
HOW DO I JOIN IN?
Sign up at blessrugby.prayerwalk.app
From the 27th February, click 'New route', Earmark the first streets you will prayer walk and then click 'Save'. The streets will turn amber. If you don't have access to the webapp, ask a friend to do this for you.
Prayer walk the street(s). Please do this within 7 days of earmarking it.
Mark the street as completed on the BLESS RUGBY app and be encouraged as you see other streets go green too.
You can prayer walk alone, but often it can help to go in pairs. Your prayer can then be a conversation between the two of you and God.
Please be mindful of your own safety, especially if you are walking alone, and keep to any government COVID guidelines that may be in place.
Repeat as often as you like!
IDEAS ON WHAT TO PRAY
Prayer-walking is essentially what it sounds like: talking with God while walking. There is no ‘right way’ to prayer-walk, but here are some suggestions for prayer-walking with BLESS RUGBY:
As you walk, notice what is around you and let the Holy Spirit prompt you in praying for that area. For example:
Pray Blessing on Homes for the Spiritual, Physical, Emotional Social and Financial needs of those who live there.
Pray Blessing on Businesses, Local Government, Health Services, Schools and Churches.
"God wants all people to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth" 1 Timothy 2:4. So pray for Salvation for those who live and work there.
Pray for Restoration & Renewal for People, Businesses and Institutions that have struggled through the pandemic.
e.g. “Father I bless this home/school/business etc in Jesus’ name, that those who live/work here may
