Rugby Team Ministry
The Rugby Team Ministry is broadly in approval of the Deanery Way forward proposals. We offer the following items for consideration:
1. We would like to encourage a consideration of non-geographical communities, for example John Parker has recently joined the local Bingo hall and regularly visits the Clocktowers Centre.
2. Our clergy seek to model the excellent relationships that we nee to make the deanery work. Chapter meetings should be timed to include OLM and NSM clergy. Good relationships in Chapter are essential to the well being of the deanery.
3. RTM is a small model of what the deanery could be, with local churches and clergy working together. The Team is not finding it easy to move toward the new model that we envisage but we are committed to the process.
4. Cluster of parishes, as in other deaneries, might help in the building of relationships and sharing of resources. Deanery Synod needs more authority to lead the deanery. A Deanery Action Plan should be developed; we can share our experience of creating a plan for the Team.
5. The Training Questionnaire needs to be analysed and action taken. A communications strategy should be developed and we would continue to offer whatever resources we have to the Deanery at large. A Deanery Prayer Cycle should be created.
6. We cannot promise to pay our Parish Share every year but we will do our best!
Our priority would be for the establishment of a Deanery Action Plan covering the issues highlighted above.

We would like to draw the deanery’s attention to a Day Conference we are organising on 31st January at St George’s to be led by The Revd Canon John Tiller author of A Strategy for the Church’s Ministry
