Revive Comes to Town
On Wednesday 14th September 2005 over 150 Christians, from 43 different churches in Rugby met at The Indian Community Centre to launch REVIVE, a new grouping of Christians who are working together to raise the profile of the churches of the town.
We believe Revive is a move of God among the churches of the borough of Rugby since 2003 which is demonstrated in:
- growing trust and developing relationships between church leaders (who have breakfast together every month)
- renewed vision for the church's mission in the area
- the emergence of new projects e.g. R-Hop; Hope4 and Refresh
- the commitment of churches to work together
Our Mission statement is
To know Christ and to make him known through empowering individual Christians and churches.
We aim to:
-
Encourage each Christian to develop the heart and mind of a disciple
-
Encourage the community of God’s people in the Rugby area to work together to fulfil the Great Commission.
-
Encourage each church to reach out appropriately and effectively to the wider community, reflecting their own character
These aims are reflected in several new projects across the town:
Refresh Outreach among clubbers and others in the town centre on Friday night / Saturday morning: Free hot drinks, somebody to talk to and some space.
Hope 4 Action among the homeless in our town. Raising consciousness, providing food, creating a drop in centre at the former St Philip’s Church
R Hop The Rugby House of Prayer, praying for our town and borough
