STREET PASTORS AT RUGBY’S ST CROSS HOSPITAL OPEN DAY
Rugby Street Pastors were invited to join with the Community Safety Partnerships stand at the St Cross Hospital Open Day on Saturday 21st August. This was another great opportunity to raise the profile of our Street Pastors Initiative, having only started its first street patrols 3 weeks prior to this event.
There was a steady flow of people throughout the day and our Street Pastors were able to explain what our role is all about. The local radio station – Rugby FM were in attendance and Bob Reeve - our SP Coordinator was interviewed, the recording of which will go out on the air sometime next week; another great publicity opportunity.
We currently have 18 Street Pastors - consisting of 11 guys and 7 ladies, with an age range of 24 – 72. There are 4 teams who take it in turn every Friday night (10pm – 4am) to patrol the streets of Rugby. We have had a fantastic reception from the public; to see pictures of our teams on patrol, follow the link to browse our photo album folders:
We are looking to start recruiting more Street Pastors, with the aim of having teams out every Saturday night also.
So, if you are interested and would like more details, please contact our Coordinator - Bob Reeve email: rugby@streetpastors.org.uk Tel: 01788 544608 / 07738362899
